HIDL

Designing professional solutions and opportunities.

In Halah's Instructional Design Lab (HIDL) I pair instructional design practices with the principles and theories of organizational and human performance and stretch them over the plains of learning opportunities we know well and learning opportunities never before seen. I partner with people, organizations, and institutions, and support them with using my blend of instructional design to create professional solutions and opportunities.

In this lab I experiment with learning-based design for improvements and betterment as much as I allow experimentation to affect the overall constructs of instructional design. Although labs connote fluidity, the work I do here is indeed targeted in its goals, grounded in its research and evidence-based practices, and substantive in its relevance, impact, and meaningfulness.

"I worked with Halah to help me navigate some challenging work situations. They listened, asked clarifying questions to get to the heart of the matter, and created some personalized tools for me that I could try and then adapt as needed. These tools have helped me to achieve my goals in a healthy and realistic manner. Thank you Halah."

Did you know that design flourishes when there is harmony amongst the design elements? CRAP (contrast, repetition, alignment, and proximity), a design principle, helps to create balance in design whether it is an e-Learning module, a learning guide such as a performance aid, or your own website. Check out my writing on how to use CRAP to create effective design here
